Everybody’s business

“She is gone… She left… She is with another man…” That is what rumors said…

But are they true? Who knows?

Her husband is looking desperate and destroyed; he is puzzled and is crying all the time. Everybody around is feeling sorry for him and the children. He is saying that she left because she is not in love with him anymore, that she is confused and needs time on her own. But, that is only his version as nobody knows hers.
“How could she do something like that? She is a bad woman, a very selfish one! How could she leave her children? A mother should never do that!”

Everybody knows better than everybody else. They do not have a clue of what is really going on, but they believe they do. So, they spend hours discussing, arguing and judging, convinced that they have a right to do so, as if it is everybody else's business to question someone else's life.
Some feel offended as she went without saying goodbye and/or explaining herself to them. The speculations are many, enough to write a book. But, are they true?
Some did contact her through email, facebook and the chat, but she is not explaining herself to them… “How could she do something like that? They are her friends, they do care and they want the best for her!"

But, is that true?”

“She does not love him! She is bored with her life and only wants to have fun; hence her family is a hassle to her. That’s why she left!” One of them says with conviction while they others nod in agreement.
They are upset with her for taking a step without consulting with them first. That is not how it is supposed to be done. How could she think only of her happiness? Once you are a wife and a mother, you should forget about yourself as they are your life and nothing else should really matter.

But, is that true?

“She is back! She realized she made a mistake, because her place is with her family” says someone.
“She could not get a job and a good life, like the one she had with her husband, that’s why she is back” another says.
“Have you seen her husband? He is looking so happy to have her back; he has forgiven her for going away. He does not realize she is using him” says some else.
Once again the rumors go through the small town, from mouth to mouth, from house to house, from place to place…

But, are they true? Who knows! Only she knows…

Nevertheless, what disturbed them all is that she is not explaining herself despite all their efforts to really know.
When asked, her answer is always the same: “Why do you want to know?” and with a mysterious smile she keeps looking at them right into their eyes…. as if she has nothing to hide.

Hi, gabriela,

This is a real life situation. That is the nature of mankind.

It is imperative to note that there will always be something some people, who don't mind their own business will talk about you in whatever situation.

Therefore, as long as you have set your objectives right, do what is right for you at the right time according to the set goals.

Paul.

Thank u dear Paul for your comment.

I do agree with you, people will always talked, even if they do not know what's really going on. But despite that we should still live our life on our very own way and forget about what others said or may said.

Interesting story, but i will not be drawn into the rumours of town. The people that need to know, already know the truth... the Lady and the husband.

Gabi - This post hit home for me as I have been the scandalous one in others' eyes. No one ever really knows the truth, sometimes not even me. Some things are just NOT everybody's business, only God's.

Thanks for your kind comment on my blog.

Dear Luke, it is so true only the ones involve know the truth... that is why we should avoid gossiping about things we don’t really know. The fact is that many times is easier to look at others than ourselves, as we are afraid of what we may discover.

Thank you for stopping by.

Dear Kass.
Sadly this story is real for many. People are always ready to judge and point a finger, when in reality they do not have a clue of what is really going on and it is none of their business.

I guess is part of our nature, after all we are a social specie who like to share all, even if it doesn’t concern us ;-)

Thanks for stopping by

This is a very good wake up call for all those people that waste time on other peoples business. This story teaches us to mind our business rather than poking our noses into things that do not concern us or things to which we have no solution.

Adelina, Hameja, as I read the other day: Remember, the mind likes to assume it "know what it knows" but often its perceptions are just not accurate. Yet strong judgments are made all the time based on limited information...When we judge someone and then adopt an attitude toward them, that shuts down other possibilities and locks us away from the insight of our hearts.

No one really knows what goes on with anyone, we at best might know what's going on in our own lives. But I think that there is a little sickness in our heads that enjoys seeing other people having problems otherwise why would these gossip sheets called magazines that report celebrity news exist? Thanks Gabi for reminding us in your own creative way to mind our own business.

Love,
Sherry

PS I might take you up on the offer to visit! It does sound lovely :-)

If we are not careful, we can get addicted to gossip. That's why I refuse to spend a cent on any gossip magazine. They tend to concentrate on how miserable others are, which probably is not even close to what is really true.

Thanks for stopping by dear Sherry. You are welcome any time to visit Zambia.

I can't agree more with the comments above. It's really irritating to see people porking their nose where they are least welcome. As not to look foolish its always best to igonore rumor morgers and move on with one's life. Husband/wife issues are best known by the two and only them can resolve irrespective of what others think and say.
.......Nice article for them intruders of peoples' lives!!

@Noni and Edward,
thanks for the comments and support. We all gossip, so it is good to ask ourselves if it is worthy or not, as it doesn’t bring anything positive to anyone’s life.

Its typical of people to get into other peoples matters and demand that it be explained to them on why things are the way they are. The should learn to keep out of business that is not theirs.
