Crying

Each spoken word said with ill intention

Aiming to suffocate the dimmest self-esteem remains

Turning upside down an already broken world

Crying, crying, silently crying…

Feeling that life is over

That nothing else really matters

Trust dishonored

Confidence wiped out

Nothing left to the imagination

None to assume

Plenty to digest

Crying, crying, silently crying…

Revolted with what I’ve become

A self-destroying destroyer

Too many years waiting for a happy twist

Holding the light of hope

Devastating feelings throttling the need to speak out

Believing everything said

Crying, crying, silently crying…

Convinced that there isn’t another chance

That it is time to give up

But, I’m done with all that!

I’m standing up!

I’m going to mend my broken self

I’m celebrating our end

I’m starting afresh

Sentient of today

Crying, crying, deafeningly crying

I’m going my way

To find myself

To fall in love with life again

Crying, crying, happily crying…

Oh that is powerful. I felt every word of it. I love the ending crying, crying, happily crying. The strength it takes to get it out of your system and move on for yourself! Beautiful job Gabriela!

Wow Gabriela the feeling within this poem would have resonated with many people. And I especially love the last stanza ... Life is so worth the effort to stand up & mend ones self.
Have a wonderful day .. fantastic One Shot!

Gabi, I hope this is fiction, or an old truth...not your pain today. I think everyone has moments like this. I'm so happy the poem ended with such strength. Yes...heal thy broken self.

Thanks for your continuous support. This poem is an old truth... based on my dysfunctional relationship with my parents.
I’m doing great; I have fallen in love with life… Today I’m happy and mended :)

Nice turn-around at the end there... always good to see tears of joy rather than of sorrow.

Feelings of sadness and worthlessness described very well -- and a wonderful ending, redemption at last! Enjoyed it!

Oh-so-relatable work, with a (welcome, unforced) hopeful finish.

Oooph, Gabi, that beginning was so dark... and I was relieved to see it end with crying tears of joy. I can sense that you are now on very solid footing, loving life, through your family, your creativity...

Glad that had a happy ending - was getting concerned. And the photo goes well with the poem.

Sometimes it seems the world has ended, but that is when your inner strength surfaces. From the depths of pain you faced the world again. Beautiful poem.
