Commonsense

Je pence
Out of commonsense
To built a fence
For my defense

Don’t be tense
I know I’m intense
But please don’t take offense
Based on false pretense

Please, hold the suspense
And all your incense
Until your sense
Understands my self-defense

My abhorrence
And abstinence
Aren’t a coincidence
I’m lacking the confidence
That will make the difference

My innocence
And inexperience
Were busted by your indifference
You insulted my intelligence
With your insolence

My intransigence
Is your penitence
Patience and persistence
Will prove your prudence

Silence is my preference
To answer your impertinence
So you see, why my fence is commonsense!

This was fun to read because of the rhythm and the phonetics. And I loved the last stanza - commonsense is way under-utilized :)
