Poetry and I

Whispers of the soul
Chanting of the heart
Tribulations of the mind
Guide my fingers to write
Open up, don’t be afraid
Everything will be OK

Transmuting feelings into words
Letting them go and be
Clearing the foliage of my being
Tenderly falling like autumn leaves
Landing on my fingertips
Who in trance, dance and type
Without asking why

An open heart, bleeding feelings
An egocentric mind playing drama games
A juggling soul offering light
Writing poems is their thing
For they do it as a team
Being fair to what each feels

Gabriela, This poem is truly wonderful. I love "clearing the foliage of my being" ah that is just perfect. Isn't it what most of us are trying to do? Bravo!

That is one of the best of the best I have read in a long time!
It expressed so much that is me for me to see... Only poetry can do that. As Kristen said, Bravo!

Ah yes, to sort the pile of the leaves of my thoughts, one must select by color, shape, structure....

Lovely poem.

Feelings turning into words
and tenderly falling like autumn leaves that land on the fingertips, and the uncomplaining fingertips dancing and typing.... beautiful!

I'm barely discovering the magic of poetry. Your poem is so lovely and summarizes the process so well-it makes me glad to have found this blog.

I must follow it. Will enjoy getting to know you.

Writing is an adventure, it opens us, bleeds us, juggles us into a different sphere.
