For the Perfect Poet Award

Awesome!!! I've been awarded with "The Perfect Poet Award"   :)

Thank you Jingle, and all the other wonderful poets!!

Silence

Silence, please be quiet
Pay attention and listen carefully
To the silence within

So many things going through my head
An analytical mind doesn’t rest
Hardly trying to silence all the cracking voices
Asking and answering concurrently
As if everything should have a logical answer
For the mind to take it easy

Silence, please be quiet
Pay attention and listen carefully
To the silence within

I must be careful with what I think or say
As I know that thoughts and words create
But regrets don’t undo and sorrow isn’t a fine ally

Silence, please be quiet
Pay attention and listen carefully
To the silence within

I don’t like what I see and hear
The silence is too loud to bear
Stubbornly I kept quietly observing
The mind attempts to complain
But contentment appears
After that there is nothing to fear
For silence becomes a friend and nice place to be

Silence, please be quiet
Pay attention and listen carefully
To the silence within

Your poem reminds me of my meditations, in silence, thoughts evading. You write beautifully and the award is well deserved.

Congratulations.

Silence is sometimes frightening to me, other times comforting. Your poem captures these emotions nicely.

Congratulations on your award.

I'm betting a poetic mind, or heart, doesn't sleep much either.

Silence--wouldn't it be great to have it within as well as on the outside? But then where would those lovely poems get their inspiration? Loved your poem.

congratulations Gabi!!!! well deserved; shhhhh - I don't want to disturb your silence celebration! if we could only hear our own silent words... the sound of honesty.

Well Done Gabriela- I loved it..
LOLsss- all the reasons and seasons that you have expressed about an analytical mind- LOLsss. They are so true.. count My Mind amongst those.. :D It really become tough unless I reach a conclusion or derive a Logical explanation for everything..
"I don’t like what I see ... nice place to be" is state of my present being. I had almost turned into a recluse- I changed back only a few months back!! It's right, I enjoy my Solitude time so much that I may have been labeled as cranky by some- actually many..!!
It definitely grows back in you and you grow in it.. so right.. Infact, In my Blog, I have dedicated a section to My Brooding as well!!

Very well written Gabriela- My morning couldn't have been any better!!

This is so beautiful! I really hear it. I'm always searching for that silence within and I struggle with the analytical mind so much! I really love the way you write. I need to come back to this poem often, it gives me a calm, soft feeling.

Sometimes, all it takes to hear the truth of the world is silence. :)

Beautiful.

i love it - the silence within. so often these days we look outside of ourselves for answers, justification, support, validation... but to turn inward and respect the inner sounds is vital -- great reminder and excellent poetic skill

Congrats on the award! :)

You're right. Even though a lot of people are afraid of it, silence can become a friend. At times, it's silence that makes us realize that we are happy.
